For several years now, Gretchen and I have taken an October trip to Traverse City. We sure timed it right to see the fall colors this year. And the weather was summer like - nice, wrong but nice.
We visited Mawby winery in Suttons Bay, Leelanau County. Recommend! 😀
Next stop was a walk in the Leelanau State Park. Walking in the woods on a sunny, warm fall day is one of my favorite things in all of life. And to do it with the love of my life is perfection.
We visited the Grand Traverse Lighthouse at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula. And scoped out the beach area for possible full(ish) moon photos over the lake.
I love water and rocks photos. Maybe it is that I love rocks in water. I wish you could hear these photos...
A couple photos after dinner, on the way back to the tip of the peninsula.
We came back before sunset and were treated with beautiful, orange sunset skies.
Well, the photo I had in my head did not come to fruition. The clouds rolled in and the moon rose over St. Mary's Cement factory, theoretically.
On the plus side we got a good picture of Venus and one of the comet. So I guess that is a once in every 80,000 years opportunity.
Another perfect day on Sunday and a walk around Boardman Lake.
A stop for pumpkins on the way home.
I know, that was probably way too many pictures - by hey, Michigan in the fall...
Until next month (or so).
