We went to Africa, thanks to my Mother-in-Law's generosity. I rented a lens and had the time of my life - for so many reasons.
Africa will change you. It changed me at any rate. Survival is wholly dependent on cooperation. All things have their place in the web of life. We are just another animal that had better learn to cooperate with our environment.

The big five! You'll have to play Where's Waldo for the rhino.

Tanzania is a beautiful country. We visited Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. the landscapes were all beautiful. But the Serengeti captured my heart - the wild openness of it all.

I left a part of me right here...

The sunsets were incredible.

We saw tree climbing lions. We heard a lion mother call her cubs and heard them respond. -the 2 cubs in the first photo actually.

And elephants so close we could have touched them. Photos don't capture the sounds of elephants walking, and eating, and the smells of the vines as they swished the dirt out them before eating them.
