Got Peanuts?
Well, January came and went, with not much thought to my photography project. But I did leave my camera, with the new long lens, sitting on the dining room table. Over the course of January, I took many photos out the dining room window. Clearly, I have a thing for squirrels.
This one, Scar, descendent of Fatso (may she rest in peace), is my new favorite. You can see his (yes, his) scars on his shoulders. The beginning of November was the first we noticed him. He came to the deck all bloodied, with open wounds. It looked to me like a hawk tried to - or did - pick him up and carry him away. We fed him and gave him water. He has been a regular visitor ever since.
And who knew they ate snow like that. He went from one end of the branch to the other, gobbling away.

Yummm.

Brrrr!

Oh, and we have birds too.
